Ugly Sweaters, Bingo, and Lots of Lights

The Saturday before Christmas we had a whirlwind of family Christmas parties.  First we headed North for the annual Buttars party.

Highlights included a nativity where Grandpa wore a wizard robe to play King Herod

...and an ugly sweater contest (Santiago won!)

hello, double chin
...and of course, some DELICIOUS cupcakes.  It's hard for me to even look at those right now without drooling.  I'm trying to lose weight this month, so no cupcakes for me.  But I need to add those chocolate peanut butter ones to my list of things to make in a few months!

Here is the party planner/cook/baker/decorator in all her ugly-sweater glory.

And one last picture of Santiago's cute snowman outfit.  You know you're important when you have multiple outfit changes at one party.

Then we headed back south (passing some tractors) to get to the Hatch Christmas party.

The highlight of the party was a bingo tournament.  Everyone had a chance to win...

But it was mostly the little kids who walked away with the big bills.  (Ironic, since they'd be just as happy with a bunch of quarters!)

Since the party was next-door to Temple Square, we walked over after to look at the lights.

Tiago had almost the same hat as Grandpa... which was good, because both of their hairless heads needed to stay warm.
