Last weekend we drove 45 minutes to Pottenstein. It's a cute little town with a cave, amusement area, lots of hiking, and other attractions.
First we went through the cave. It felt nice to escape the heat for almost an hour. Fortunately Santiago was happy in the baby carrier the whole time.

Next we went to a bench to eat lunch and watch people paddle-boat. We considered it, but didn't want Tiago trying to jump in.
We drove to the top of a hill down town where they have an a 1000-yr-old castle, Burg Pottenstein. It didn't seem that big or grand, but the location was great. It overlooked the whole area.
It's fun to discover places like this that are so close.
