Porters Visit

Edna had been trying to visit all summer but the timing hadn't worked out --then Hyrum came home in July.  Finally in the middle of August we had a weekend that worked for everyone so they drove to see us for a few days.  Tiago was already in pre-school so he had a big entourage walking him to the bus stop.

Mike and Hyrum woke up really early to do the "Incline"-- a staircase that goes right up a mountain.  It takes about an hour if you really hustle.  I'm glad Hyrum found someone to go with that wasn't me.  :)

We took them to Manitou Springs one afternoon to ride on the arcade rides and then have a picnic in the park.  I love how far $7 in quarters can go.

Our stake hosted a breakfast for military families so we went to eat and play games.

Hyrum took everyone to the Olympic Training Center while the twins napped.

And we hiked at Cheyenne Mountain State Park across the street.  It almost started raining on it, but held off until we were back to the parking lot.  The sun was beautiful going down behind the mountain, and the kids all walked without complaint on our intentionally short hike.

This picture is fuzzy, but I had to laugh at how many people were crammed into the toy room!  It was packed, and the kids were having such a good time.  I really didn't have to watch my kids the whole weekend because they were being entertained by cousins.  It was a sad to see them drive away.  It's nice to live within driving distance of family for the time that we're here.
